One of our favorite things we did while visiting Costa Rica! We didn't see any big sea life and the water was a bit cloudy while snorkeling, but not a fault of the crew (late May, morning after heavy rain). We recommend taking the anti-nausea pill when they give it to you before the tour - one of us felt seasick even with prior boat experience, but the crew were helpful in getting us through it. Drinks and food were great, including the vegetarian option (which we're often disappointed by on other tours)!

Our captain (captain minor) was great- so funny and made sure everyone had a good time. The meal on the boat was delicious (rice, beans, fresh Mahi Mahi, salad) and we also got fresh fruit and drinks (Mojtos, mango juice and rum, pina colados, etc.) The sunset was beautiful and the water was so warm to swim in- we could snorkel, use the slide, and jump off the boat. The scenery was very pretty as well.

I can’t recommend this tour enough to anyone visiting Manuel Antonio or the surrounding areas. We took part in the 9 AM session (there is a 2 PM one as well), which took about 3 hours in full.- It was easy to get there (they pick you up)- The crew was very fun and accommodating (they make unlimited kickin’ drinks and cook amazing food for everyone, including mahi-mahi, chicken, and veggie options)- The views were amazing (snorkeling and swimming around the boat were a good time)All in all, it was well worth the time and money, and we’d recommend it to groups of all sizes and ages. Shoutout to Kevin and the full crew.ALSO—If you’re lucky enough to try the captain’s homemade Carolina reaper hot sauce, do not pass up on it. Best hot sauce I had in the country hands down.

I had the pleasure of booking Sunset Sails Tours for a sunset cruise with my dad during our last night in Costa Rica, and it was an incredible experience that exceeded all our expectations. The crew, led by Kevin, were super friendly and hospitable from start to finish, and we appreciated the easy pickup and dropoff service at our AirBnb.We were impressed by the delicious mahi-mahi dinner that was way better than we expected, and the snorkeling was a fun bonus. We also loved the unlimited cocktails, which added to the already great value for the price. And of course, the highlight of the trip was watching the stunning sunset over Manuel Antonio, which was the perfect ending to our trip.Overall, I would highly recommend Sunset Sails Tours to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable cruise in Costa Rica. We had a wonderful time on a sunset cruise while staying at Tulemar. Uncle Minor made sure everyone felt welcome and was a most gracious host. The crew were terrific and ensured that everyone had a great time. Dinner and drinks added to the experience. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience Pura Vida!

We really enjoyed our late afternoon sail with “Sunset Sails”. I chose Sunset Sails from online reviews. The tour was easy to book. Transportation was on time and comfortable. We liked the size of the trimaran and guest about 35. Nice mix older adults and young. Kevin and crew very nice and informative. Drinks provided but not a “drunken loud crowd” which we did not want. Boat purposely got to snorkel area first before larger “party barges” arrived which was nice. and, the simple mahi mahi fish dinner with sides was GREAT! Finally boat stayed out long enough for us to enjoy a wonderful sunset! Highly recommend Sunset Sails.

This was an incredible experience; an absolute highlight of my 3 weeks in Costa Rica! I would highly recommend the sunset tour with this company. The food was one of the best meals I’ve had during my travels, the snorkeling was wonderful, and the guides were knowledgeable about the area and provided amazing information about the landscape while we were out on the water. They made it fun and interactive and truly wanted the guests to relax and enjoy. The drinks were amazing and the atmosphere was second to none. All in all, if you are in the area, don’t miss this!

Just a fantastic day for 14 of us! Minor and his crew took us out, cruised around and anchored to snorkel. Then they prepared a delicious fish dinner. Drinks were served the entire time (as many or as strong as wanted.) The entire were crew were so friendly and accommodating. It was a memorable and fun day, well worth the cost.

We chartered a sailboat for a family of 14 and had a great experience with Minor! He was attentive and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions about Costa Rica while we were cruising. He led our snorkel tour and made us feel comfortable in the water. Diego made us an amazing dinner of Mahi Mahi that was one of our favorite Costa Rican meals. The place we anchored for sunset was breathtaking. Highly recommend this company and activity!

Fantastic afternoon/evening on the water. We were on the sailboat as opposed to the catamaran. At first, we were wondering if the experience would be as good. It was!! Not too rocky, beautiful views, dolphins, tons of colorful fish when snorkeling and a great tasting dinner and drinks. Our hosts were very friendly and catered to every need. Highly recommend this as a top experience in Costa Rica - the view of the beautiful coastline as seen from the water and the sunset….great excursion.

Very nice sunset sail on a small sailboat. NOT a party boat! I had read that the snorkeling was often not good, and that was true, but we saw False Killer Whales, a species of dolphins. That made up for it. Very pleasant.

We had so much fun! The entire staff are super friendly and fun. We got to snorkel and see a bunch of different types of fish and a star fish as well as spend time going down the boats water slide! Drinks were very good and the food was excellent! Highly recommend!

Took a boat out and around Manuel Antonio with great views. Then stopped to snorkel and use the water slide while the crew prepared lunch. Saw a good variety of fish while snorkeling and even a sea turtle which the guide pointed out to us all. Then came back on board for a lunch of fried fish/chicken rice beans salad and veggies, very yummy and filling. The staff was very friendly and chatted with us the entire ride explaining the nature and culture of the area. They also provided cold drinks throughout the 3 hr tour.

Our group of 9 took a Sunset Sails tour and it was absolutely amazing! It definitely exceeded all of our expectations. The drinks and food were so delicious! The service was great and the entire crew was so much fun! The tour was a perfect combination of relaxing and fun, and we even saw whales!Kevin was particularly great--told us all about Manuel Antonio National Park and even danced with our group at sunset. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat--it was so much fun! I can't recommend it enough!

Absolutely recommend! This tour is owned by a local Costa Rican family so please support them! They had the best service! This was absolutely a highlight of our trip! It was also great for family. Our family is all adults so we had a fun time drinking but there were also families with small kids that had a great time as well. We sailed to different viewing spots while the crew served us drinks. They were super friendly and were constantly walking around asking for our next order. We stopped and swam around a coral reef spot with an abundance of fish in a cove that was very calm and good for swimming. They gave us a lot of time at that spot where everyone got to use the slide and jump off the top as well. It was all smiles! Then they served us an amazing fish lunch cooked perfectly right on the boat. We enjoyed lunch and drinks and a beautiful ride back to the harbor. Thank you Sunset Sails tours for the best last day of our Costa Rica family adventure! Pura Vida!

Such an amazing experience! The tour guide, captain, and crew made us feel at home. We took the day time tour and the experience was surreal, from sitting peacefully while feeling the breeze and listening to the waves of the ocean, to seeing dolphins and sharks. We were also provided with lots of drinks and rum (if you wanted), fruits, and a delicious lunch (fish/chicken, rice, vegetables). We got to learn a lot about the ocean life from our super knowledgeable guide as well. 10/10 a must-do in Quepos!

Our group was in Costa Rica for a wedding and had the pleasure of experiencing SunSet Tours for lunch. The food and drinks were good but the most gratifying part of this tour was seeing the whales. Minor was the best host ever. He had the right music to make everybody on the boat move and when we encountered other boats in the water, they would stop and look at us having a good time and they would start dancing and singing with us. This is a must experience tour.I will be returning with a different group for them to experience what I did. Kudos to Minor and his crew for creating a magical and magnificent experience for the wedding party and guest.

We did a 4 hour cruise with 15 people. It was a perfect afternoon. The boat was clean and had shade if you wanted it. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was awesome. Highly recommend.

Had a very relaxing day on the tour, the food was very good, much better than i expected. Kevin and the captain were extremely nice. I think they need to change the guy that answers the phones in the morning he was very rude and grumpy and hung up on me by "accident " after I asked what it seems to him were too many questions, i called back and he kept hanging up, this made us think twice about considering this company but I'm glad we did.

Really cool and affordable tour!!!! The snorkeling part was a bit pathetic, for 4 boats dropped off 300 tourists at the same time around 1 rock in the water that has about 100 fish around. But that's not their fault. The food was wonderful, the coastline views were gorgeous as well as the sunset!!! The tour guide's name was Minor, he was soooo nice and fun!!! I absolutely recommend this tour!!!

If you’re sitting on the fence about taking a sunset cruise in Quepos, get off the French and on the boat with Sunset Sails!! Minor was an amazing host! This tour company knows hospitality! You will be treated like family as he shares his knowledge of the area, the park, and the water with you. You’ll always have a drink in your hand (all complimentary) and an amazing fish (or if you must, chicken) dinner as you watch the sun set over the water. And, don’t forget snorkeling and the slide into the water. If there is one must do on your list for Quepos/Manuel Antonio, it’s a sunset cruise with Sunset Sails! Minor thank you for making our trip so special. I wish I could give you more stars. I booked the sunset sailboat for my family of 3 which had about 22 adults on it. We aren't drinkers but they keep the drinks coming for those who are. The ride along the coast line was spectacular! Minor shared details about the topography and the wildlife, that we found very informative. Being able to photograph the coastline from the water is very special all the way along Manuel Antonio and back before we settled into a calm cove where we jumped in to snorkel. We enjoyed a 30 minute plunge and got back on for a very tasty and hot fish meal prepared by the galley chef. As we headed back we nestled into the waves for a beautiful sunset to finish out our perfect day!We felt very well taken care of. They make you feel like family.We'll definitely be back to see you! I can't thank you enough.What are you waiting for... book this sailboat...you'll be glad you did!!

What a great experience we had with Sunset Tours. This is a very professional company, but with a Pura Vida vibe. Our trip was great from start to finish. Our guide Kevin was awesome and very attentive to our needs. We provided with drinks and snacks throughout the trip. We were lucky enough to spot some dolphins and the captain redirected the boat so we could get right next to them. My family enjoyed the snorkeling, slide, and jumping off the diving platform. The meal they provided was very fresh and delicious. Great trip!

We had a lot of fun. Didn't see any dolphins or other sea life from the boat, but that's just how it goes. Snorkeling is just ok in this area but it was fun to get in the water. Food was yummy and crew was top notch. Beautiful sunset!

There are tours and then there is Sunset Sails Tours. From checking in with clear expectations management regarding wildlife sightings and snorkelling conditions, on what was okay and what was not, and all throughout the trip they took care of myself, my wife, and my kids with aplomb. Special acknowledgement to Minor, the lead guide who was jovial, attentive, and felt like an old acquaintance met again after a long absence. Also, the food and beverage service was impeccable, and the skipper an absolute maestro on the helm taking us close by shores to see animals and birds, thanks to his intimate local knowledge. My oldest didn’t want it to end. Thank you. NB: we took the sail boat and not the catamaran, and it appears to have been converted to mostly motoring save for a headsail that I imagine roll out in downwind conditions but might also be there for show. This did not diminish the experience.

Sunset Sails was an AMAZING experience for me and my two girlfriends. We loved that it's a family business; I emailed one brother, met another brother, and the mom took us to the boat. S/O to Kevin for graciously cleaning up the drink that one of my friends spilled. The crew was so kind, the drinks were delicious (our introduction to caipirinha), the food was bomb, the snorkeling was okay LOL, the views were to die for, we saw dolphins, jumping in and riding the slide was super fun, the person on AUX was on point, and all of the honeymooners on the boat were so cute.

This company is hands down one of the best excursions we went on. The love from all the crew members was so welcoming and nice. We had an amazing time - saw the beauty of CR from an ocean perspective. We were lucky to see so many dolphins. The music and vibe were awesome - dancing, laughing and having a great time! Our 3 kids loved it especially the slide. The food was amazing- absolutely amazing as were their drinks! I highly recommend this tour company- you won’t be disappointed. Pura vida!

Well done cruise on a trihull cruiser. Staff was great and food was simple Costa Rican food but well done. We were lucky and saw many, many dolphins - lots of jumping, swimming in front of boat and several young ones. Adult were large - about 5 - 6 feet, young were small - maybe 2-3 feet. Stopped for some snorkelling - saw some colourful fish, coral was mostly grey - but do not expect spectacular snorkelling. Amazing sunset on our way back. Overall very good value. I have seen some reviews that have been critical of the staff - I just do not get this as the staff was professional, courteous and friendly. Staff had very good English and telephone reservation/questions was easy.

This boat tour exceeded my expectations! We saw so many dolphins, at first jumping in the distance and then swimming underneath and alongside the boat. Definitely the closest I've been to dolphins in the wild. They were feeding on California flying fish and seeing a flying fish fly on top of the water was one of the coolest things I've seen - they can stay in the air so much longer than I expected! I also saw a ray jump out of the water while we were watching the dolphins. Then we stopped to snorkel and swim, which was beautiful and we saw lots of different fish. The dinner was incredible (like one of the best meals we had on that leg of our trip) and it was much appreciated that they had vegan and gluten free options! The sunset was a stunner, especially with the coast or Manuel Antonio as the backdrop for it. Oh - and unlimited drinks and cocktails included?? That was a pleasant surprise!

A great tour. The crew was so welcoming. The boat is very nice, and the scenery is beautiful. Our timing was lucky and it was a super small group on board. Max capacity was 40 so even if more crowded it wouldn't have been a big crowd / party boat situation. Lunch was delicious too. We went in the morning and had a gorgeous trip on the water, including fun snorkeling and even sliding and jumping off the boat. Highly recommended family activity. Pura Vida.

This was an amazing tour. We had a group of 19 with many little kids and the crew was fantastic, friendly and made sure everyone was having a great time. The snorkeling was murky but still saw lots of wonderful fish. Lunch was delicious. And we all loved the slide and jumping off the boat. It was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

This tour was so beautiful and fun. The coastline in this area is full of wildlife and scenic views that make it clear why people come back again and again to this area. We saw seaturtles and many different kinds of fish. We enjoyed a cocktail and delicious freshly made meal. It doesn't get much better than that! Bryan and his father and cousin kept us safe and helped us see the beauty of the Manuel Antonio area while also getting some sunshine and if you are fair skinned like me it's nice to know they also provide a lot of shaded area as well on the boat.

My wife and I and some friends went to Costa Rica this year. One of the things we did was go snorkeling with Sunset Sails.The crew was great, customer service and professionalism was on point. Food and drinks were good. We had a blast.One of the times I dove from the top of the boat and lost my Apple Watch in the ocean. I was really upset about it but Bryan from the ship told me that he would look for it the next couple of days as the depth of the water where we were was around 30 feet. There was not much hope on our end about ever seeing the watch again.Needless to say I got a call a few days later from Bryan stating that he had found my Apple Watch. It was hard for me to believe it but he sent me some pictures and it definitely was mine, and it still worked.Since we were already on our way to the airport, Bryan made arrangements with our air Bnb concierge, and was able to get the watch back to me in the USA.Not only did we have a great experience with Sunset Sails, but they also went above and beyond to get my Apple Watch back to me.If you ever go to Costa Rica and are in the Manuel Antonio area, definitely check out Sunset Sails and say hi to Bryan!

Really nice folx. Brian was very helpful and welcoming. His dad was so sweet. He took care of me when I wasn’t feeling well on the boat. Soda crackers & ginger ale to the rescue! Kevin and Diego were also really kind. They all checked in on how we were doing and brought us drinks. Kevin even waited for me to taste the sour sop juice in case I hated it (it’s delicious, but it initially tastes like soap. Just give it a chance). We didn’t see any whales or dolphins, but my niece and my friend went out snorkeling and saw some fish, a d there was a brief appearance by a sea turtle. The ocean was nice to swim in and the slide of the boat was fun. The lunch was delicious! Really nice and welcoming experience.

This tour was so chill. The entire crew was so fun! The food was yummy! The drinks were great. I definitely recommend Sunset Sails.

Such a great trip!! Didn’t get to see much snorkeling because of the rains but riding on the boat, exploring the coastline and having conversation with the crew was the best. Plus the food and drinks were delicious.

This was such an amazing tour! The communication even before the tour made everything so easy. The crew was polite and personable, and the food was amazing! The swells were a bit large on our tour but the captain was able to accommodate for those that got slightly sick. Just an awesome experience overall.

We just came back from my cousin’s bachelorette party. The staff and boat were amazing. The staff was attentive, responsive, and helpful. The boat was spotless. I would highly recommended this company.

The father, son, and cousin team were amazing! They were very polite and accommodating. The food and drinks were delicious! Definitely need to book with them.

Absolutely an amazing experience! This company is locally owned and operated. The entire crew/family are extremely kind, very attentive and the food and drinks were phenomenal! I am hopeful to take another cruise with them before leaving CR. Highly recommend!
